I spent most of the day putting together our special meal and making the Yule log cake.
When the new sun broke through the clouds, I went outside to enjoy the warmth. While outside I filled my bird feeders and wrapped the strings of popcorn I had made around the tree trunk.
I had also made a sting with fresh cranberry's that I put around our oak tree.
The meal was a hugh success!!
And I was able to bid a goodnight to our new sun that evening. =]
Everyone was so full that even one of our cats had to hit the hay early!!
Hope everyone's Yule was all that they had desired.

Aw. The kitty looks partied out. :P Good Yule log cake! I have to ask how you got the shape. Did you have a specially shaped pan?

The Yule log cake is really a jelly roll in disguise! lolol I made a regular jelly roll and in the cooling process you have to roll it up in a power sugar covered towel to get that roll shape. When cooled I filled this one with some cream cheese filling, rolled it back up, and put chocolate frosting to cover it. I think next year I will be using some pudding for the filling because it is REALLY rich with the cream cheese!!! =]

ReplyDeleteA very good Yule celebration indeed! Of course, I have to look at the photos on your blog to see what's in my own back yard since I get home after dark!!! At least I get off early today so I can have a look!
